The
Brandon Bolts finished third in the state and qualified for the AAU tournament
being played through Saturday. "We have kids who want to play on the next
level, and here in Hillsborough County they don't get a lot of exposure,"
[Walter Perkins III] said. "Playing AAU gives them that and also lets them
know the kind of players they will be up against." Click

Game uniforms are in: follow these
washing instructions Game
uniforms and practice jerseys are in and will be distributed soon. New players
have been asked to give their choice of jersey numbers. All attempts have been
made to assign players their first choice when numbers did not conflict with
those of returning players.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOLTS
UNIFORMS It is important that game uniforms be cleaned properly. Navy
uniforms should be washed in cold water while white uniforms should be washed in
warm water. Uniforms must be hung to dry. DO NOT PUT BOLTS UNIFORMS IN THE
DRYER! Proper drying will protect the screenprinting and keep the uniforms
looking just that -- uniform! The first washing of new uniforms should include a
little salt to set the colors. No alterations are to be made to Bolts
uniforms.
Show your Bolts pride by purchasing a
T-shirt Navy and gold Bolts
shirts are available for $15 from Coach Walter Perkins at 653-4252.
Styles include regular T-shirts and the sleeveless muscle T's. Bolt T-shirts
also will be available at tournaments.
Spectators are expected to behave in
sportsmanlike manner Coaches,
officials and athletes themselves have a right to demand that spectators conform
to acceptable standards of behavior. The rule of thumb for spectators is that
nothing in their actions should interfere with any child's enjoyment of the
sport. Don't turn what should be a pleasant experience into a stressful one for
all involved. Believe it or not, coaches, players and officials are all fallible
human beings just like you, so don't demand that they be perfect. The coaches of
the Bolts recognize that parents have legitimate questions and concerns, but
please save them for after the game and speak to the coaches in private. Thanks
for your cooperation!
